Chicago Youth Hostel

The Ira and Nicki Harris Family Hostel located at 24 East Congress Parkway in downtown Chicago is an excellent housing option outside of Hyde Park for you, or as an option for friends visiting from abroad. Other than just being a housing option the hostel offers useful insight for Chicago residents preparing to study or travel internationally. The hostel, which opened in October of 2000, offers 500 beds at $22 per person, per night, although Columbia College students occupy 250 of those beds during the school year.

·        Contains a 24-hour student center open to all students with a college or university ID with lounges, meeting rooms, dining room, and a traveler’s center

·        Offers a variety of seminars regarding educational travel and other intercultural experiences
