From the Mayor
In
Chicago, tenants and landlords have rights and responsibilities. The City of
Chicago’s Residential Landlord and Tenant Ordinance Summary outlines the
important aspects of the 1986 legislation that provides and protects these
rights.
For
residents who are victims of housing discrimination, the City of Chicago
investigates, mediates and adjudicates these incidents. It’s another way that
the City is ensuring optimum housing opportunities and living conditions for
Chicago’s residents.
We
look forward to continuing to work with Chicagoans to protect housing and
tenant rights, to provide good homes for people, to build strong communities
and to improve the quality of life for all.
